Questions about grading? ........
The easiest way to talk about grades, to my way of thinking, is the
way it is written in the syllabus, so check that language again. To
compress it further, though, I would say this: each segment or unit of
the semester concludes with a portfolio, comprised of the same
elements each time. We have completed one portfolio, and, next week,
we will bundle our writing to explore efforts into a unit two
portfolio. This is timed so that we can "remix" our unit two
reflection into a midterm reflection, and bundle both portfolios
(which provide different views on your evolving project) as a mid term
portfolio. Then, at this time, we will have enough writing, and enough
writing of different types/modes (narrative, definition, cause and
effect, exploration, etc) to warrant the addition of a formal progress
report to the wide variety of feedback we manufacture via the
wiki--this evaluation will appear on the wiki and via the registrar's
office. Perpetual process, you will notice, is the wiki way, and it is
as easy to calculate participation/process scores as it is to notice
the correlation between a good blogging rhythm and good scores on the
unit portfolios. Again, the rubric for these formal checkpoints, from
the syllabus: rhetorical knowledge, critical thinking/reading/writing,
process, knowledge of conventions, and demonstrated capacity for
working in electronic environments.
MacKenzie would really like to know how to work this website. Mainly, how to make my license show up!
I got your licence to show up. You have to paste HTML under the "source" tab. -Adam

Professor, do you think you could let us know our grades so far this semester? I feel like it's hard to know what we should be doing when we don't exactly know where we stand.

Professor, I have tried to email you my poster presentation for the showcase, as I believe we are supposed to do. however, for some reason it continues to say: Sending failed, or if it does go through, I recieve an email from my server saying that the email was not recieved and that the server will retry for two more days. I have also tried to send from other internet sites, yet still to no avail. If you could please help me figure out a way to get my presentation poster to the printing office, that would be awesome! thank you so much!
