KD MLK chalk perspective
at approximately 11pm on Thursday night I quickly left a chalk "message" on the threshold of the CAC.
I sadly will not be able to join the rest of the class at the showcase Friday morning, but I hope to have some presence with the chalk I left behind.
I will also have a poster set up inside with a bowl of chalk for people to take.
I want people to feel free to leave their own message behind.
The Part of chalk drawings that I love is definitely the impermanence of it.
I like the idea of leaving a message and only a random amount of people will see it,
it only remains for a random amount of time,
and will never be made EXACTLY the same again.
My Poster will read:
concrete seems to cover the majority of the world sometimes espicially if you've grown up in Urban areas.
Concrete is just a thick Barer between people and the earth,
But Why Do we separate ourselves from the Earth?
People are always trying to separate and organize, it's in our Nature.
The Concrete takes the organic feelings from the cities and the people who live in them,
The cities and the People become Artificial,
Buildings, no longer architecture & People, no longler biological
I propose that we re-establish the human connection, so it is no longer separated.
I propose that we all leave a humam mark on a slab of concrete,
It can be ANY mark, ANY message, ANY picture, ANYTHING.
Leave a message, then maybe someone in need of a little organics will see it.
Maybe you will brighten someones day.
I INVITE YOU TO TAKE A PIECE OF CHALK SO YOU CAN BEGIN.
NO TIME LIKE THE PRESENT
